It remains impressive even after nearly two decades. The visuals continue to be striking and meaningful, working well alongside the audio design. The narrative and humor also stand the test of time, like a good wine. A reboot or reimagining wouldn’t really be necessary since it hasn’t aged badly and doesn't require updating; why try to copy something already flawless? The only remake that would be worthwhile would be an exact recreation using noticeably improved animation, but I doubt studios are interested in honoring the original vision given how many remakes there are. It would have been interesting if they had considered a different story set within the same world as the avatars, rather than trying to retell what’s already excellent.
