Synopsis

With unrest simmering across Ireland, and Emily’s son, Edward, deeply involved in the burgeoning rebellion, the sisters held fast to the belief that their family’s standing, influence, and generosity would shield them from harm. They succeeded in arranging for Edward's departure from the country, yet he steadfastly declined to leave his comrades behind.
