Synopsis

Mr. Grainger’s disposition had grown remarkably irritable of late. In a discreet gathering, the staff confided in Mr. Rumbold their belief that his departure was necessary. Yet, fortune intervened when he unexpectedly won the lottery; suddenly, his sourness dissipated, and he reconciled with everyone, remaining firmly in place.
