Synopsis

Mr. Grainger was chosen as a temporary replacement for Mr. Rumbold during his absence; the staff initially considered whether they might subtly take advantage of his amiable demeanor. Their hopes were dashed, however, and replaced with dismay when he dismissed Mrs. Slocombe.
