I've noticed a lot of positive buzz surrounding this series, and honestly, I’m struggling to understand why. It seems like much of the enthusiasm might stem from nostalgia. Perhaps there's some regional preference at play too; maybe those in coastal areas or urban centers appreciate it more, as I've heard praise for it during my 15 years living in a city. When it originally aired, around when I was ten, it was described as a spooky kids’ show that wasn't really frightening. It reminded me of the experience of bringing a Goosebumps book to school and being ridiculed so badly that you switched to Stephen King instead. *Are You Afraid of the Dark?* had a similar vibe. Kids who attended daycare centers, those without older siblings or parental supervision, found it genuinely scary, while everyone else considered it uninteresting and opted for *Tales From the Crypt*. It was often shown briefly, then dismissed. I do recall giving it a fair shot when it first premiered, though.
