It works reasonably well when played at double speed, though it’s clearly a television program that could have been shorter. The six episodes felt stretched; they might have been condensed into three or even two segments. What’s presented isn’t really a narrative so much as a series of brief scenes manipulated to inject some excitement into otherwise unremarkable situations—apparently expecting viewers to exert effort for their amusement. Ultimately, the characters don't evolve, and there's not much in the way of traditional action either. It comes across as the kind of heartwarming Christmas tale wealthy Europeans share among themselves, seemingly intended to ease their consciences about those living under the control of Western powers.
