The original show operated on multiple levels, possessing an underlying narrative beyond what was immediately apparent, and after three decades, the creators have honed this technique so effectively that they can now tackle virtually any subject matter. They’re able to do this without children, censors, parental concerns, or sensitivity readers even realizing it, which enables them to explore topics other programs for kids wouldn't risk approaching. I appreciated how they included subtle observations about things everyone is aware of but hesitant to discuss openly—it was genuinely entertaining to see them address these issues. Ultimately, the show remains highly enjoyable and functions on many different levels.
