Synopsis

Though lacking formal structure, the student voice grew in volume. Following the loss of a key leader and with Barrientos's support, the students began to coalesce into a more unified body. As their numbers swelled, the movement intensified its demonstrations throughout the city, which were, in turn, met with government repression.
