Synopsis

Tonight, the final eight contestants of *American Idol* will take the stage for a live performance, each striving to capture the hearts of America and claim the coveted title. They will sing inspirational songs, pouring their souls into each note in hopes of securing a place in the next round. Will they impress the judges and withstand the intense pressure? The finalists are: David Archuleta, Jason Castro, David Cook, Kristy Lee Cook, Michael Johns, Syesha Mercado, Carly Smithson, and Broo
