The reputation of a well-known Texas fruitcake bakery was recently tarnished when its accountant was found to be orchestrating a scheme involving fraudulent checks. Separately, a man who presented himself as a financial expert defrauded numerous investors, using the illicit funds to support a professional racing team. The money he stole originated from his own church congregation.
