Synopsis

In 1936, Walter Reuther spearheaded one of the most fiercely contested and violent struggles in the American labor movement's history. Through sit-down strikes that halted factory production, auto workers compelled the "Big Three" automakers to recognize their union. General Motors attempted to break the strike by cutting off heat and food supplies, while Ford dispatched private security to physically assault UAW officials; yet, the workers remained resolute.
