Synopsis
With the Supreme Court’s order for complete and immediate school desegregation issued in October of 1969, Leland, Mississippi, finally fulfilled the mandate of the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education ruling. The following autumn, a cohort of children began their studies, comprising the first class to attend all twelve grades together, regardless of race.
