Mária Telkes devoted her life's work to unlocking the potential of solar energy. Despite facing discouragement and opposition from her male peers, she remained steadfast in her pursuit. In 1948, she achieved a landmark accomplishment: the design of the first house capable of being effectively heated by the sun. Her ingenuity resulted in over twenty patents.
