Synopsis

It is a tale of modest individuals confronting overwhelming power in the pursuit of a more just society. In the first two decades of the twentieth century, the coal miners and the coal companies of West Virginia engaged in a series of fierce and violent struggles, centered on the terms of labor and the right to unionize.
