Synopsis

This documentary explores the life of Joseph Goebbels (1897-1945), a key figure in the ascent of Adolf Hitler. Kenneth Branagh lends his voice to readings from Goebbels' private diaries. The film incorporates archival footage from Germany, charting Goebbels’ trajectory and revealing his meticulous cultivation of image, transforming himself repeatedly from a youthful proponent of radical socialist ideals into the Nazi propagandist he became.
