Synopsis

*Remember the Alamo* commemorates the vital role played by Tejanos—Texan Hispanics—in the fight for Texan independence. The work highlights Jose Antonio Navarro (1795-1871), a prominent Tejano leader and a steadfast supporter of Stephen F. Austin’s efforts to cultivate the Texas economy through attracting American settlers, especially cotton planters, during the 1820s. Navarro also stood at the forefront of the uprising against Mexican General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna in 1836.
