Synopsis

Examining newsreels, films produced by the War Department, propaganda posters, and firsthand accounts from five women who worked in defense plants during World War II—a generation often called "Rosies"—reveals a vivid picture of their experiences. These women share their perspectives on the demanding realities of wartime labor and their feelings about relinquishing those positions to the returning servicemen.
