Hawaii, America’s newest state, holds a lingering enigma that stretches back through centuries: did an ancient people, known as the Menehune—said to have been remarkably small—truly exist? While vacationing with his family, Scott Wolter found himself drawn into considering this possibility, and he soon realized that geology might hold a crucial clue in unraveling the mystery.
