Synopsis

The sausage concealing the painting of the Fallen Madonna, pilfered by Lieutenant Gruber’s dog, was about to be ground when the Lieutenant intervened – thankfully noticing its unusual contents just in time. Simultaneously, the disappearance of the knockwurst meant Monsieur Alphonse could not reclaim the funds he'd advanced for the sausage’s ransom.
