Within just a few minutes of watching, you quickly realize what’s ahead. The initial presentation was quite flawed; it felt very distant from anything believable, and the characters adapted to that unrealistic foundation throughout the series, which ultimately created significant issues that couldn't be resolved. Strange actions kept popping up, making it hard to become invested in what was happening. It would have been better to lean into familiar tropes and exaggerate them rather than trying to avoid them with such awkwardness. The dialogue felt stilted and unnatural—the conversations were just poorly written, a real disappointment for the audience. Yun Hyong Chul’s character seemed very mechanical and didn't convey genuine feelings beyond moments of sadness while drinking and smoking; the show essentially treated him as a joke. The story dragged on too long; these twenty episodes felt far more extended than a typical series of that length. Chae Rim has done many melodramatic roles in the early 2000s, but I believe this one stands out as her weakest performance.
