The first couple of episodes have been just alright. The initial idea is promising, but it struggles with a noticeable absence of suspense and meaningful consequences. It seems the central figures are protected by an improbable shield; the alien creature can quickly destroy a group of people, yet when these characters are nearby, they’re merely tossed about or avoided entirely. There's no consideration given to the potential for the alien to escape the damaged spacecraft, spread across Earth, and reproduce—a factor that could have created considerable anxiety. This feels like a significant error for something titled Alien: EARTH. However, nods to earlier installments in the franchise don’t come off as contrived as they did with Aliens: Romulus. Discovering new aliens and understanding their powers is definitely a positive aspect, but the show's quality is held back by its cast of characters. Aside from the emotionless synthetic leader, most of the others feel like adolescents who haven't been given distinct personalities beyond their age; consequently, their responses and reasons for acting are all quite similar and uninspired.
