Synopsis

The weight of his work pressed down on him, compounded by a growing dependence on morphine, making it harder each day to hide his addiction from his colleagues. Finally, after enduring one too many painful reminders of his failing control, he vowed to begin anew, dedicating himself to the fight against the spreading syphilis epidemic. But a journey undertaken in the heart of a blizzard, to see a dying patient, would prove to be his ultimate trial.
