Two years had passed since the inexplicable Burst stole her family, and Aiko was finally relearning to walk. Then, the arrival of a new student irrevocably altered the course of her recovery.

Kanzaki led Aiko into the town, where she met Kurose, a former colleague of her father. He revealed to her a startling truth: her mind had been transferred into an artificial body.

The CAAC has taken Aiko and Yuya into custody, but the Divers manage a rescue. With the Matter reactivated, the team now intends to proceed to Primary Point.

They breached the Gate just as the government issued the evacuation order. Their initial objective was the Guillotine Shutter at K1, but the Matter was already active there.

Within the perimeter, the group finds rest and replenishes their supplies at the encampment. Nanbara accepts a ride from Kurose, though she and Isazu seem to harbor intentions of their own.

Kaede’s lingering hesitation stalls the group’s advance toward Point K2, a deadline they must meet before dawn to gain entry into Area Three. Isazu explains his actions to Kurose.

Special Forces from the CAAC intercepted the group, their objective to bring Aiko back. Kurose began to suspect a connection between Isazu’s daughter, Yuzuha, and the Matter.

The divers encountered Aiko and Kanzaki, yet both parties reaffirmed their commitment to the mission's continuation. Isazu assumed the role of laboratory director, and in doing so, gained knowledge of Unit One.

The team arrived at the biotech research facility in Primary Point, where Isazu swiftly established a video link, turning it directly towards Kanzaki and demanding answers about his motives.

Within the Malignant Matter, Aiko finds herself granted a rare opportunity: communion with her other self. Elsewhere, the human-formed Matter consumes Yura, and in its wake, reveals Yuzuha.

Isazu forged a connection to the Matter, intending to question Yura. Meanwhile, the JSDF made preparations to obliterate the entire Area, a decision Nanbara vehemently opposed.

At the surgical site, Yura acknowledged that Aiko’s choice had altered his plans. Kurose attempted to sever the connection binding Yuzuha to her duplicates.
