What history would later label “The Crime of the Century” unfolded with the kidnapping and subsequent murder of a young man born into one of Chicago’s most affluent families. The police investigation quickly focused on two privileged college students, Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb, known for their pursuit of excitement and transgression.
