Synopsis
A summons brought Kirk, Spock, and McCoy to Star Base 11, where they encountered Captain Christopher Pike, a former commander of the Enterprise. Pike, now paralyzed and bearing the marks of severe disfigurement, received them with a quiet dignity. In a surprising turn of events, Spock took command of the Enterprise, only to subsequently surrender himself for court-martial.
