I have to admit, "The Resurrected" felt excessively bleak and cynical for my taste. The acting was good, and the script had an interesting quality, though occasionally it seemed a bit too intricate. This series explores what drives individuals to commit awful acts against each other; however, it also contains depictions of organized crime, sexual abuse, torture, and brutality that can be difficult to endure. There were times I almost gave up on this one because of those issues. Ultimately, my curiosity about the relationships between characters—who did what, and why—kept me engaged. I wouldn’t watch a second season, though. It's more upsetting than enjoyable. Essentially, it’s a complicated narrative with well-developed people, but be aware that the setting is deeply unsettling, sad, and disturbing.
