Synopsis

Unable to confide in Sui Ge about Murong Yao, Yi Xiao devises a means of control. Meanwhile, in Jinxiu, the Emperor finds ways to mock and assert his authority over Jing Shi, who patiently waits for his opportunity. Lord Ling reveals the Emperor's fifteen-year-old secret: a terminal illness. Prime Minister Zhuang subtly begins maneuvering the ministers toward Sui Ge’s brother as the next ruler, though he surprisingly desires the Emperor to remain alive.
