The dwelling was a peculiar place, existing between realms of fiery beasts, a residence consumed by outlandish artistry, and a flamboyant Victorian mansion steeped in theatricality.

The house was consumed by art, its walls a riot of color and form. Across the way stood a former church, marred by a gaping, unsettling void. And nearby, a grand residence held a resident stubbornly clinging to a fading illusion.

Following the identification of the most dilapidated property, HGTV designer Alison Victoria presented the homeowners with a remarkable $150,000 renovation.
