Synopsis

With Ganesha’s trunk severed, the remorseful Parshuram implored Mahadev to inflict a punishment for his assault on the deity's son. Vishnu proposed that Ganesha should be honored in all ceremonies. Kartikay voiced his dissent at this suggestion. Parshuram then declared that Ganesha would compose a great epic using the broken tusk as a writing instrument.
