Synopsis

Narad counselled Parvati to observe a fast for sixteen Mondays running, and to dedicate her worship of Shiva to bel leaves, foregoing fruits and flowers. Meanwhile, Mahadev conveyed to Nandi his resolve not to permit Parvati to hold affection for him.
