Banasura offered thanks to Mahadeva for his compassion and for gracing his kingdom of Sonitpur with a visit. The Lord assured him that he would be shielded from dark forces, but cautioned Banasura against the abuse of his boon. A shadow of sadness fell upon Kartikeya as Mahadeva departed Kailash.
