Synopsis

Mahadev was deeply moved by Banasur’s fervent devotion. Though Narad and Lord Vishnu intervened to prevent him from granting Banasur a boon, he nonetheless bestowed one upon the demon, and delivered him from the clutches of his adversary, Sonit Raj. Empowered by this divine favor, Banasur grew formidable and ultimately vanquished Sonit Raj. The prophecy of Lord Brahma, however, filled the gods with apprehension.
