Synopsis

Lord Shiva accepted the challenge issued by Lord Vishnu. The deities grew anxious at the prospect of war and its inevitable repercussions. Vishnu then disclosed to Shiva that his challenge was a carefully considered act, undertaken for the betterment of the cosmos. Upon hearing this revelation, Shiva bestowed a blessing upon Vasuki, the serpent king, and fashioned him into a necklace.
