Taraka laid bare to Mahadev the reasons behind her disruption of Vishwamitra’s ritual. She harbored a suspicion that the sage was plotting against her. Elsewhere, Lord Rama and Lakshmana offered prayers to Parvati at Parvati Van. Within Janaka's palace, Sita and her sisters, Mandavi, Urmila, and Shrutakeerti, received instruction in the arts of Sanskriti.
