Synopsis

The cigarmaker was discovered in his shop, bound and beaten, his body marred by mutilation and death inflicted with a chaveta – a tool used in cigar making, distinguished by its rounded blade. Horatio’s inquiry draws him to a network assisting Cuban refugees. Meanwhile, across the city, a twenty-five-year-old man is fatally shot while using an ATM, yet the absence of the withdrawn funds suggests the motive was something other than simple robbery.
