Synopsis

Paul Westhead’s time at Loyola Marymount University (1985–1990) is inextricably linked to a thrilling, high-octane style of basketball. His Lions were renowned for their relentless run-and-gun offense, fueled by the considerable talents of players like Bo Kimble and Hank Gathers. However, this era was also shadowed by profound tragedy; the sudden on-court death of Hank Gathers in 1990 cast a long and somber pall over the program.
