In Rocester, Staffordshire, JCB manufactures up to a hundred of its famed yellow diggers each day. The entire process, from raw materials to finished product, takes a mere forty-five hours. This remarkable output demands a staggering weekly consumption of resources: 650 tonnes of steel, 170,000 bolts, 5,000 litres of paint, and 236 miles of wiring.
