Synopsis

Engineer John Dalrymple and his wife, Rina, a potter, had rented a small 19th-century cottage just outside Amsterdam, Holland. After three years, they’d come to the unavoidable conclusion that the dwelling was simply too cramped for their belongings. A decision had been made: to pack their lives and journey south, all the way to Italy. Their destination was the small hilltop town of Guardia Lombardi, a place overlooking chestnut groves, farms, and vineyards, home to just over a thousand souls. R
