Synopsis

Stardate 45854.2. A damaged Borg cube is located, and a surviving drone is recovered aboard the *Enterprise*. Dr. Crusher works to mend its physical form, and Lieutenant Data develops a rapport with the being, christening it "Hugh." Not long after, Hugh begins to exhibit unexpected signs of independent thought. Captain Picard is then faced with a difficult decision: eliminate the anomaly or return Hugh to the collective consciousness from which he originated.
