As the number of children with foreign parents grows in Japan, schools face a pressing question: how best to support them? And how can these students navigate the obstacles they encounter? At one school, where a significant portion of the student body hails from other countries, efforts are underway to foster integration. We observe Yuka, a recent arrival from Brazil, who, lacking any Japanese language skills, finds it difficult to connect with her classmates and fully participate in school life
