Synopsis

Following a diagnosis of schizophrenia in her mid-twenties, Ayako spent over two decades within the walls of a psychiatric hospital. Now, at sixty-nine, she is finally discharged and embarks on a new chapter, determined to build an independent life. Hopeful for the future, Ayako envisions simple joys – sharing meals with others, forging friendships, and experiencing love. Yet, re-entry into society will require her to navigate a complex array of obstacles.
