In July of 2017, the inhabitants of a southwestern Japanese community prepared for a significant occasion—the opening of a café nestled within a kominka, a traditional dwelling. However, torrential rains and a subsequent landslide brought apprehension, casting doubt upon the building's survival. Remarkably, the aged house endured.
