Synopsis

Figures resembling demons, their faces concealed by frightening masks, wield swords with a menacing grace. This is Onikenbai, an ancient performing art known as the "demon sword dance." The practitioners grow older each year, and the tradition desperately needs renewal. In Iwate Prefecture, a group of high school students are resolved to preserve this heritage, though passing the skill on to younger generations proves a more formidable undertaking than they anticipated.
