Synopsis

In March of 2018, the Sanko Line, a Japan Railway route connecting Shimane and Hiroshima Prefectures in western Japan, ceased operations after eighty-eight years. Once a vital artery of transportation, the line had witnessed a slow decline in ridership as automobile use increased and the local population dwindled. As railway enthusiasts gathered to mark its end, a group of residents began considering how to repurpose sections of the former railway line into a tourist destination, hoping to breat
