Synopsis

Summer of 2022 saw the return of the celebrated Kanto Festival in Akita Prefecture, a vibrant event suspended for three years by the Covid-19 pandemic. For Kishi Toshiki, the traditional lantern festival is more than just an annual occurrence; it’s integral to his life. Leading a local kanto association, he has participated in the festival since he was a toddler. Inspired by his late mentor, he dedicates himself to ensuring the continuation of this ancient custom, particularly for the children.
