Synopsis

The fiery collision at Quincy Regional Airport in Illinois in 1996 involved United Express Flight 5925, a Beechcraft 1900 twin turboprop, and a private King Air. The incident occurred during landing as the King Air was commencing takeoff from an intersecting runway. The catastrophic outcome – the loss of all twelve passengers and crew of the 1900 and the two aboard the King Air – stemmed from the passengers' inability to escape the burning aircraft.
