Synopsis

On January 22, 2000, Crossair Flight 498, a Saab 340 on a regional route from Zurich, Switzerland, to Dresden, Germany, crashed moments after liftoff in the Swiss municipality of Niederhasli. All seven passengers and three crew members on board perished upon impact. This marked the first fatal accident for the Swiss regional airline in its twenty-five-year operational history.
