Synopsis

During its first flight, a United States Air Force transport aircraft involved in Operation Babylift experienced a catastrophic failure. When the rear cargo door gave way, an explosive decompression occurred, and the aircraft crashed into a rice paddy while attempting a forced landing in South Vietnam.
