Synopsis

The flight, USAir 1016, was meant to be a simple fifty-minute journey from Columbia, South Carolina, to Charlotte, North Carolina. But in a sudden turn of events, a bright summer day transformed into the midst of one of the most violent microbursts ever recorded. The DC-9 plummeted from the sky, crashing to the ground and claiming the lives of 37 of the 52 people aboard.
