Synopsis

Haunted by the memories of the Great War, British Army officer Arthur Hastings seeks solace in the tranquil setting of a country manor. However, his hopes for peace are shattered when the manor's elderly mistress dies unexpectedly from strychnine poisoning. Hastings calls upon an old acquaintance, Hercule Poirot, a former Belgian police detective who is residing nearby with other veterans, to assist in unraveling the mystery of the crime.
